1712 in West Belmar is not just a place on a map, it's a home away from home. Just 2 miles from Belmar Beach, this home is an ideal spot for enjoying a Jersey Shore vacation in peace and quiet. It is with great pleasure and pride that we now offer it as a vacation rental.
Currently, the house is decorated for summer to give you the feeling you want for this time of year. Personally, autumn is my favorite. Warm yourself by the fireplace with a glass of wine or click on a ball game after walking the boardwalk.
This lovely 4-bedroom - that sleeps five adults - home features a screened-in front porch, dining room, and a spacious living room with comfy overstuffed couches. There is one bedroom on the first level, and 3 bedrooms on the second, and a full bathroom on each floor. The washer and dryer are located in the basement, and the kitchen is equipped with a portable dishwasher. In nearly every room of the house you can find charming built-in bookshelves, cabinets and drawers. The home naturally is equipped with cable and smart TV and WIFI.
This 1930’s vintage house has its history. The first owner in the family was a commercial fishing boat captain, who came to the US from a small island off the west coast of Norway. He and his wife raised their 3 children in this house. 1712 has remained in the family to this day.
1712 is in a quiet family-friendly neighborhood, less than two miles from the beach, a mile from the marina and over twenty eateries. A brand-new Shop Rite with pharmacy and restaurant-style food is a five-minute walk.
Belmar beach is the largest and widest in the area with plenty of places to grab a bite to eat. Quiet, peaceful Spring Lake is equally close by. Avon-by-the-Sea, Bradley Beach and Ocean Grove are other nearby beach options. Always remember to swim only when a lifeguard is present.
Other attractions include Point Pleasant Beach, where children can enjoy evening amusement park rides; Asbury Park; Six Flags Great Adventure theme park; New York City, a 1.5-hour car ride, or 2 hours on the nearby train.
We know that vacations are a lot of work for parents. We will endeavor to have a bottle of wine on hand and some milk and cereal for the kiddos, so you don't have to rush out to the store if you get in late. We have a portable crib.
Finally, 1712 is a very convenient location. Nearby Route 138 affords quick access to Route 18 and the Garden State Parkway.
Check back with us for different seasonal rates. We will have 1712 decorated for each season. For Thanksgiving, stick a turkey in the oven and go watch Manasquan play football. Really. Have Christmas under the tree by a warm fire. There is no need to sacrifice having Christmas alone with your family when you are visiting relatives, right? Get away for Valentines! Enough said. Visit grandma and grandpa for Easter. We'll be there for you.
Please note, we are interested in renting to families and responsible adults who will treat our home with care and respect. Our neighbors are full-time residents who will not tolerate noisy, late-night gatherings. This is a friendly, quiet neighborhood. Stay safe and enjoy your time at 1712.

1712 has fire, carbon, and gas alarms. (One review had a defective alarm. It was really a clock in a kitchen drawer.) This house is super safe.
Bedding and towels provided, with washer and dryer on premises.
There is one security video doorbell at front and one at back door. There are none inside.
Feel free to ride the bikes in daylight hours. 😎
